Sad news about LCF Board Member, Paul Kennedy

Dear Friends

L’Arche recently lost a great leader, friend and passionate advocate in Paul Kennedy.  Paul served for 16 years as an active board member of the L’Arche Canada Foundation, helping to support the foundation in managing personnel hiring and also fundraising for L’Arche. Paul was always there – to provide counsel, support, or friendship – for staff, volunteers and core members of L’Arche in several communities, over many, many years.  Through Paul’s passing, we have lost a great a member of the L’Arche family.  The foundation has received calls, and emails from people from many communities who have expressed what a profound impact Paul had on so many lives – of people with and without intellectual disabilities.  We are grateful for Paul Kennedy’s service to L’Arche in Canada.

Paul leaves his spouse of 50 years, Mary Kennedy and three children: Christine, Kathleen and Patrick, and several grandchildren.

We give thanks for Paul’s willingness to give of his time and talents for the greater good of L’Arche communities across Canada and for his generous leadership at L’Arche Daybreak and for L’Arche in Canada.

We will all miss Paul. As a small way of paying tribute to Paul’s legacy, we have established at the Foundation, The Paul Kennedy Family Endowment Fund. The fund will remain in perpetuity to continue Paul’s deep love of L’Arche. If you wish to contribute a memorial gift to the fund, please call the Foundation offices at 905-770-7696 ext 110. We in turn will send a card expressing any personal message to the Kennedy Family.
